Central locking pump models
« on: 31 May 2011, 18:43 »
I ordered a central locking pump off ebay but it has 11 pins and the one that is broken that has come out of my GTIi has 12 pins the model number for my old one is 1H0 962 257 C. The one I just ordered is 1H0 962 257. I have seen others on ebay that are 1H0 962 257 E, 1H0 962 257 F, and 1H0 962 257 G. But no 1H0 962 257 C. Whats the difference between them all? Will a 12 pin 1H0 962 257 G be the same as a 12 pin 1H0 962 257 C?

And would an 11 pin 1H0 962 257 replace my 12 pin 1H0 962 257 C?

Thanks,

what should be ok? using a 11 pin to replace a 12 pin? If so surely i will be missing something?

I cant seem to find any info on the differences between C,E,F and G 12 pins models :(

Im nearly 100% sure it will be ok. If your in doubt then phone the VW dealers for the exact model but they will prob tell you the same

Well the extra pin must do something, better to find the correct one tbh.

There are loads of 12 pin ones on eBay but none of them are C, they are all G and E :(

Will not matter as the higher letter will be a later / updated version, as long as the pins are correct you will be fine.
