Any Lowered Edition 30's Out There?
« on: 30 May 2011, 15:09 »
Hi folks

As the title says, is there anyone out there who has an Edition 30 that has been lowered?

Reason I ask is that I was thinking of putting an Edition 30 front lip/splitter on my mk5, which is currently lowered on Eibach Sportlines, however I'm worried that with the Ed30 lip, I would have problems going over speed bumps, up driveways, multistorey car parks etc...

Any opinions/experiences from lowered Ed30 drivers out there are much appreciated!

For what it's worth I'm dropped about 70mm on coilovers and have zero problems with bumps and driveways. Haven't been in a multistory yet so can't be sure lol. I'm not sure if my splitter is as deep as the E30 one but it's about the same size as the standard GTI splitter.
Not low enough mk5

I have the normal GTI splitter/euro lip on my car at the moment and have never scraped the lip, but I am probably not as low as you on your coilovers compared to my sportlines.

I'm hoping some Ed30 drivers will come on board soon and share their 2 cents worth...

My Gti is totally standard and I caught my front bumper in West Quay multistorey in Southampton, which I was somewhat unhappy about!  So I guess it just depends on the design of the multi storey your in.

This is all dependent on how high the humps are or how steep drives/car park ramps will be. The humps around my area seem to be like skyscrapers.

I have a standard GTI with stock suspension and I still end up occasionally scraping it while getting in to my drive or over some humps.

Some mixed responses there!

But interestingly enough, not many people appear to have lowered their Ed30's!

I'm in two minds now about the Ed30 lip! :undecided:

It does look the dogs bits though!
