Performance Mods?!

Hi as ive only recently got my golf, can sum1 tell me wot ort of performance mods i can make such as k&n? Exhaust etc? im driving a 1991 Golf Ryder 1.6

exhaust, weber carb with bigger jets, 8v gti cam other than that you get into the realms of rebores etc and then you might as well get a different engine or a gti or something. lighten it as much as possible as well and uprate your suspension and you will have a fun little car

I got a proven 106 bhp out of the old 1.6 driver by using a kent fast road cam, advancing the ignition, taking the air filter off and making few jet mods. Oh and good regular servicing never goes a miss.

why not buy a gti 8v. surely the insurance with the mods will bring it up to around the same as a gti

yes you can also make the 1.6 a 1.8 by changing the crank/pistons to 1.8 items cos they have the same block
