Winter tyres all year round ......

This thread will probably invite more negative comment than ever, but as is uaual I love being abused within reason and secondly I don't give a toss. So here goes.

Reading some bumph from Continental earlier and an artical in Car which more or less confirmed my thoughts on Winter Tyre use in the summer and therefore all year round. Continental recommend Winter Tyres should be used in this country from October to April which makes it 7 months of the year. They also suggest that it is better to use Winter Tyres in the summer than Summer Tyres in the winter. Under such conditions, Winter Tyres wear less than Summer Tyres. On average, Winter Tyres perform better than Summer tyres for all year use.

Actually, I am not too bothered. I can get anything and everything from my VW dealership now-a-days.  In fact, I'll just visit my Warranty Manager who now lives 10 doors down from me. I'll be inviting her for a meal soon to cement our relationship.
