MK5 electric door mirrors

Hi.

Tried to adjust the electric door mirrors today and the off side mirror adjustment button was adjusting both mirrors at the same time.
The near side mirror works fine with the near side button.

We have had to re-fit the glass on the drivers mirror just before we noticed the problem but that was only to stick the glass back on as we noticed it was moving when we where driving.

The only other thing that I can think of is I had to pull the mirror in the other day when parking on a tight road.

Anyone have any advice on this problem.

Its designed to work like that I believe

That would seem very bizarre to me.

That means you have to alter the off side mirror and then re-position the near side mirror with near side button as the mirror would now be incorrectly set.

Surely VW aren't that stupid,these things are meant to be easy to adjust whilst on the move.
