Remaping my car...
« on: 27 May 2011, 18:47 »
Remapping my GT TDI hopefully next month! Now, I know I should tell my insurance company, but would they ever be able to find out that I'v had this 'mod' installed?

If anyone has any previous experience please advise me :)

Cheers

Si

Just spoke to the remap company, said they are fully booked for the next 12 months, looks like I'll give it a miss.

So...has anyone had any previous experience with this so I can learn for 12 months time?

Yup - I've had experience of this as an Insurance Underwriter: Guy on a fleet policy had a massive accident (£20k +) and the claims department phoned up asking if the underwriting department had prior knowledge that his car was modified as it had a superchip fitted. We had no prior knowledge of it so the long and the short of it was no cover, no car, and liability for a £20k claim.

Do the Maths.
