Help needed, power roof
« on: 01 April 2005, 19:40 »
Hi all, wondering if anyone can help?

I have a 1990 cabby with a power roof that worked perfectly when i bought it. The car had rear quater damage so has been sitting in my garage with the hood down for about 6 mnths, last week i tried to raise the hood but it would only go up to about 12ins short of the screen.
I haven't had time to start to diagnose the problem and thought that someone may have had the same problem or know what is causing this.

It may be dirt/dust from the body work i have been doing.

Anyway cheers to anyone that reads this.

Rob

I've not had this problem but have you checked the fluid level ? When I put my hood up, it gets to a certain point (less than 12 inches though) and then stays there for a second while I'm still pressing the button then it goes the final few inches and I can then lock it, so have you kept the button pressed down longer ?  :undecided: Other than that I don't know what else to suggest.
......now officially dubless.
