I was wondring how long it would take me to change the back shocks on my mk2 golf.

Around 1hr per side, maybe a little longer if you issues with the bolts.

I'd say less than that personally.
IIRC they are only held in by a nut on the top and the ones connecting to the rear beam. Get some penetrant spray on them overnight and they should whip off quicker than a slack pair of grundies.

Well I based my time on removing it and then stripping the spring off plus then rebuilding it.

Agree with the lads ,about an hr each side...get everything sprayed up and loosened off ,have a brew then get stuck in...time will fly mate
