It's almost all french cars! WTF!

i remember driving a citeron dispatch van a couple of yrs ago, u had to press the brake pedal to he floor to get them to stop the thing. didnt feel safe at all

Well they had a piece on watchdog last week that you could operate the brakes from the passenger footwell in a c3 picasso.

It turns out this is the case in peugeots, citroens and renaults as well.

They reckon as many as 500,000 cars could be affected! Ranges from meganes, 307s, 308s, c3s, c4s etc. The list was huge.

Just confirms the french can't build cars really.

Not really just the French, having a cross linkage is very common on cars built mostly in lhd as it saves the expense of moving the servo, the issue comes with what you cover the linkage with, on most cars it is right up and out of the way however the problem comes when you cover it with very little.

It's one hell of an oversight wouldn't you agree? I haven't looked at if this has affected any other manufacturers, but from Watchdog it did seem to be limited to french car companies.

Might have to buy one for the missus, i prentend brake enough as it is when she drives this would really help

Yea the brakes in my VTR were not great.
Had grooved discs and greenstuff pads in the VTS which did the trick
