intermittent jolting
« on: 25 May 2011, 13:33 »
my 8v 1989 golf gti is experiencing a jolt whilst driving along. This only happens once or twice in a 15min journey. the jolt feels like a sudden lack on power, causing the car to slow up and accelerate back to normal - creating a jolt. It feels like a minor blockage in the fuel line? trapped air? im unsure. I have cleaned the idle stablisation valve and replaced and checked all hoses. still no resolution..

Secondly, possibly related - i will loose all power whilst cruising at higher speeds. the car seems to rev when i press down on the acclerator whilst driving, but will slow down considerably through the gears and require me to put slip into neutral gear whilst driving and turn the engine on and off to solve the problem...

any help please??

Have you checked the earth connectors etc?

This, totally.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
