I've just got a new golf mark 6, How do you work it?

Hello, Hi..

New to the forum and new owner of a golf mark 6 since yesterday!

I need help, SERIOUS HELP! The car before was a ford fiesta which just had seats and a steering wheel. This is alittle bit more tricky.

Why does the thing beep every time I go over 20 mph? I have my seat belt on I think the lady owner before set it to that... How do I change it?

The car displays the speed in kilmefefenjfe or what ever on the bottom of the electronic display and is there a way to change this to mph?

Finally last problem, I cant stop driving the bloody thing! I will purposly go out of my way to do things for people as long as I get to drive it!!! I find myself in the middle of nowhere without a reason!!! I suppose theres no cure for that until I become bored aye?

It will beep over a certain speed if the speed warning has been set. You can adjust or cancel this using the menu on the DIS. Your Handbook will tell you how.

The digital speedo in KPH is there because you only have MPH on the main speedo dial. It is possible to change this to MPH, but you need VAG COM or VCDS and the appropriate lead to plug into the cars diagnostic port to do this. From what you have said, This is probably best left alone.

Lol, right cheers lads! Im young as well, I feel lost with this tech! I will leave the thing alone and just work it out for myself eventually as glovebox is empty of a manual! Thankyou, Ill get some photos up when I learn how to work that aswell!!!

Coming from a Fiesta to a car that somewhere in the long and deepness of the menus asks you at what percentage of brightness would one like the footwell lights, is a big step.
I, and pretty much everyone here, can't expect someone to jump into a car, regardless of age, and expect to know EVERYTHING about it?

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like your car is speed limited. You're probably going to have to drive everywhere at 19mph. A couple of us have had the problem, you might want to look at Revo Stage III, that'll sort the problem out.
