Vag.com screen dumps wanted please
« on: 23 May 2011, 20:55 »
Hi...
I'm after some screen dumps of vag.com for my Golf GTD.
1. Needle stage (needle sweep on start up)
2. Bleep on locking / unlocking car doors
3. Disabling seatbelt chime

And anything else you might find interesting.
This is so I can take them to my local VW approved garage and get them done sometime next week.

Many thanks...

Martininwillerby.

1. Needle stage (needle sweep on start up)
So you can do that on the GTD then, I thought that was a GTI thing?

So why do you want screendumps or of which part?

You can easily make you own screendumps of each page I do? Just press Alr+PrtSc. open Paint up and paste the picture in and save it as a JPG.

You can copy the pics you want from various VCDS tweak sites.

2. Bleep on locking / unlocking car doors
3. Disabling seatbelt chime

Mine has never bleeped while locking/unlocking the car.

I've removed the seat belt warning.

I think you need to update your sig if the GTI has gone and the GTD has arrived?

I think he's just after easy instructions To take to his local VW approved garage.....

OP if I get 5 tomorrow I'll do this or maybe Keith would oblige with his screen print method if he gets 5

Well if Martin wants some changes doing and he does't have access to VCDS then he may as well take it to the dealer. It will depend on how good his relationship with the dealer is as he could be charged for these changes.

I've made my own doc file with the 3 changes and loads of other change info in there I've done with pictures copied of the web or the vagcom info for mkv.pdf its MK5 but somethings don't change. I shall have to do more screendumps of the screens I've changed the next time I plug it in.

I've posted my changes My VCDS Tweaks, if you have a GTD then its a very useful site to be on.

I shall have to look for the needle sweep option Doc, thanks for sharing?

Yes I know of that link Mike all the tweaks are in my doc file. Its strange that they call the Golf 5K. I've also use VW Golf/Jetta/Bora (1K/5M) Tweaks. There is a 1K and 5K for the Golf but my VIN number says 1K so I've always used that on a Autoscan.

Thats 36 controllers to scan in 1K and 33 in 5K. From AutoScan.txt file.

1K,VW Golf/Jetta V,00,01,02,03,08,09,0F,10,15,16,17,18,19,1C,22,25,2E,36,37,3D,42,44,46,47,4F,52,55,56,57,62,65,69,72,76,77,7D - 36
5K,VW Golf/Jetta VI,00,01,02,03,08,09,0F,10,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,1C,22,25,2E,37,42,44,47,4F,52,55,56,5F,62,65,69,72,77 - 33

It scans each controller 3 times if it doesn't get a signal it moves on to the next one, it only scans 17 in mine.

Scan: 01 03 08 09 15 16 17 19 25 2E 42 44 46 52 56 62 72

I'll do a scan this afternoon and try out VCDS Beta 11.2.0 to compare the differences and snap a few pics for my doc file.

Yes, that confused them when they were trying to do the wheel alignment on my car as well, not sure why the VIN number says 1K.
If you look at the label in the boot floor, the first set of numbers under the VIN state Typ 5K1 which is definitely the chassis type for the MK6

If you select Auto Detect (CAN Only) as the chassis type it will only scan the modules that are registered on the CAN Gateway which saves time waiting for all the modules that don't exist.

When I did a Autoscan this afternoon I didn't tick the CAN only but when it scanned it was ticked.

It picked up on 03-ABS Brakes -- Status: Malfunction 0010 again.

I have a slow leak in one tyre, the light came on last week. I inflated it and press the Set button, I wonder why it still logs it as a fault?

When I first had VCDS last Christmas the fault showed up I cleared it and it never showed again until now. I wonder why it always shows a stupid date?

Tweak 4 – Cluster Staging / Gauge Needle Sweep

Ok I've found it and done it?

Now I've seen this feature on YouTube a few times but they only show the Golf GTI doing this.

Now this will depend which type of instrument cluster you have fitted it must be an 'H' type. If you want to know how you find which type of cluster you have read here

Select 17-Instruments

Select Adaptation - 10

Select Staging from the combobox

If it hasn’t been changed it will say not active in the Stored value

Select active from the New value combobox and click Do It!. You will get a message are you sure you want to change not active to active just click yes.

Now when I activated mine I turned the ignition off then on and the needles didn’t sweep I tried this a couple of times. I turned off and removed the key then inserted it and turned on and the both needles swept.
