ok, i was coming off a curb today, and the underside hit the car.

looks (cant say for certain that this is what its hit but) like its bent the jacking point / "rail" type thing. would this have caused any damage to the chasis or anything else doyou think?

will upload a pic in a sec, mods feel free to move to the mk4 section if you want, wasnt sure as the car is a mk4 yes but its more likely to get seen here and also could be simelar to all models?

So its bent the jacking point on the sill? i wouldnt be too worried, just smash it back with a hammer if its an issue for your widowmaker

the main thing i was worried about is it appears to have put a crack in it you can see from the picture, had a look on the drivers side of the car and it looks like there is two peices of metal that join there so not to sure if ive actually put a crack in it or the force from it bending has pulled the joint apart  :undecided:

cant find bloody cable  the one time i need it.

Should be easy enough to sort.

okk, cant find the cable to transfer the image to my computer.

basically, chances are that the chasis wouldnt be affected? much of the strenght of the car in the jackin points/sills?

You would have had to hit the kerb at motorway speeds to bend the chassis in the middle, I wouldnt worry

smack it into shape and put a dab of hammerite over it just to stop it rusting, otherwise dont worry

Yep, chill man, managed to reverse my car off of a two meter high retaining wall some years ago, leaving it balanced on the sills.
No damage whatsoever.
