MK2 Gti digifant engine problems
« on: 31 March 2005, 19:35 »
My mates mk2 golf 1.8 8v digifant goesnt stop running when the key is taken out. He washed the car and now the engine doesnt cut off. Its not the timing. changed the relays, pulled fuses. even pulled the fuel pump fuse out and it didnt stop running!
It just keeps on running and running till i took a black wire off the rocker cover bolt.

Also the window wipers dont stop working, tried taking the fuse out but they keep running.

The engine and wipers only cut off when the black wire is dissconected off the rocker cover bolt. Ive used a spare switch to break the circuit which works well and looks stock

anyone got any clues on to why this has happend? Could it be related to the fuse box??

I once had a Vauxhall Chavalier which was left running by a local nutter!

I pulled out all of the fuses and the HT leads and it still ran on tickover!
Don't know how other than possessed by the devil

Eventually settle for putting it in gear and stalling it

It ran for about 50 mins and was boiling and leaking oil everywhere

I know it's no help whatsoever but is your mate a nutter as well?

Maybe that's the common factor?
