help me please its cutting out

ive got a cuttuing out problem, now ive had the car 3 months now its an r-reg 2.0 gti 8v colour concept n hay its a nice enuff car!! BUT its had so much spent on the engine new this new that, ive just got the car back from having a new water pump as it was making a terrible banging noise, been out in it for a few hours and it cut out so i waited a few mins and started it back up only to drive up the road 100 yards and cut out again !! so after it taking a hour to get 1 mile home ive started it up after about the 20th turn and its ticking over so you go for rev it and it cuts out!! can any1 help ?? thanks oh also ive still got a little banging noise from the front but nothing is loose?

this is the 3rd person within 2 days thats had this problem ,you need to replace top row third from left relay number 30 make sure its vw they cost 10 quid and this should work ,very common problem ,hope this helps

right ive had the rac out and they say its overfuelling as when you turn it over its used half a tank of petrol trying start up and sending flames out of the exhaust ?? any more ideas anyone, also we changed the 30 relay !!

have you tried chaning the fuel filter? maybe something to do with that?

IVE JUST BOUGHT A FUEL FILTER AND PUT IT ON THERE ISPETROL GOING AROUND THE ENGINE BUT TURNING IT OVER TRYING TO START IT HAS WASTED HALF A TANK OF FUEL ITS JUST BACKFIRING FLAMES?
