Bluetooth issues
« on: 21 May 2011, 19:36 »
Hello,

Bought a vw premium bluetooth kit off ebay and fitted today (to RCD510), I have got full phone book functionallity on both screens and i can hear speech of the incoming call. The problem is the person on the other end cant hear me. Microphone is in the factory position and i have checked continuity on the mic lead.

Have i missed something obvious or have i got a duff unit / duff microphone.

Jim

Darren had the same issue when fitting mine initially, the mic was showing "open circuit" in vcds, i think it was something to do with the loom being for an RNS not an RCD, it was an easy fix (for him) but i don't understand it sorry. I'm sure Darren or SteveP will be able to explain better, works a treat now though!

yep has Jimble said its an easy fix, most of the looms are built for the voice control now, but the RCD doesn't have voice control of the headunit. The RCD only has voice control through the bluetooth,

Now all you need to do is check the loom that went into the back of your RCD the small green plug next to the blue one if you have MDI or aux in should have 4 wires going to pins 1 - 7 - 9 and 4 the colour wires correspond to each other all you have to do is put them together, i.e black to black transparent to transparent, the latter could be black and white...

Darren,

Many thanks,  an evening of tinkering tomorrow then.

I have noticed also that the mic wires are transposed ie black to tranparent and blue to black, does this need checking also?

Cheers
