Possibly stripping my Golf :(
« on: 21 May 2011, 01:44 »
Hi all, not really sure what to do and wouldnt mind some opinions....... Ive tried to sell my car for the last month or so and it hasnt gone, to the point, where im in my mind, almost giving it away. Would you carry on and make a tragic loss  OR  strip it of everything Ive made it into and sell everything separate and just a standard base car at the end? If I was to take the bits off Id have for sale

Forge FMIC with crash bar (£400)
KW rear anti roll bar (£100)
Milltek cat back system (£200)
Simota Aeroform CAI (£120)
Anni gearknob (£45)
Anni mats (£30)
Anni handbrake (£45)
Anni steering wheel (£65)
TT pedals (£20)
FK AK coilovers (£100)
LCR rear brakes (£150)
BBS RC's in anthracite black (£400)
Neuspeed upper strut brace (£50)
And possibly a Ko3s, TIP, Forge D/V and 3'' downpipe with sports cat for probably £275 ish

Do you reckon its worth the hassle of taking it all apart and being without my weekend car for a few weeks and then driving from Norwich to Hinkley to get the map reset or would you sell it how it is. I dont think Ive overpriced my car as £2600 for the lot or overvalued the parts above. The recession has really messed up a lot. Ive never had so much trouble selling a car before. Many thanks for anyones input. This isnt a sale thread, more an opinions

Mate what a b!tch to hear, I'd well take it off you if I hadn't made the decision to switch to Derv! :undecided:

I've not even put my 1.8T on the market yet, and judging by this post, all I'm going to face is disappointment too, as yours is muchmoree specced up

It's sad to begin ripping your pride and joy to pieces, selling the fancy bits and the car as stock, but the financial benefit will by far outway the time and inconvenience. For a start, you've just listed £2000 worth of parts that would be snapped up by several buyers! Then you could lower the price of the standard spec car, making it more appealing to a wider audience

Shotgun the coilies and the gear knob if you do decide to strip it mate!!
