GTI mk3 8v Intermittent dying out........please help

I have had my Mk3 GTI 8v for over a year now....recently it starts but cuts out straight away. I then have to wait a few minute and try again after 3 or 4 attempts it starts but is very annoying as sometimes it can take 30 minutes! any suggestions please???
It was cutting out before but had the distributor and ignition starts switch? changed by VW that fixed that problem.

  hi replace a relay on relay board its the top row third from left it says number 30 on it they are 10 quid make sure its from vw dealer ,just pull it out and push the other in job done ,by the way this is a very common fault ,and anyone who has got one of these golfs i would recomend changing the relay even if they have not got the problem its just a matter of time

Yes the 30 relay is somewhat a gremlin in the machine keep a couple of spares handy as well..just in case..
