I'm looking to fit a rear ARB to my car, but I'm reluctant to part with the money most places are asking... So it's time to put my (not yet finished) engineering degree to good use!

Fortunately I have a friend who is willing to let me use his work shop with everything I need to do this, but I still need a bit of help from the Mk4 community.

First off, does anyone know what grade of steel Whiteline/Neuspeed/Eibach/etc. use for their bars?

Secondly, I'm looking to build a 25mm or larger bar - are there any cars which use a bar this big as standard that I can pinch mounting bushes from? I'll turn them out myself if I must, but I'd prefer not to.

The clamps to hold the bar to the rear beam and contain the mounting bushes will be custom and to attach the bar to the shocks I think Mk3 front ARB droplinks will do the job, but if anyone has the dimensions for them they'd be appreciated.

And finally, as I don't yet have access to anywhere (or any time) to jack the car up and measure things up I was hoping some kind dubber who owns a Whiteline style 24mm bar wouldn't mind measuring it so I could get some idea of where I need to start?

Thanks
