Water damage and corrosion on the contact's causes this due to the wire/contact's are copper.

Agree with that. Will be a pain in the arse but may be worth pulling all the fuses, drying out the box and wire brushing the contacts.

Might even be worth getting a new box from the breakers, as a last resort.

took the fusebox completely apart, and all 3 sections had blue sh!te / liquid on them. got out the cotton buds, towel, hair dryer and wire brush and cleaned every single terminal.

took it for a drive (11 miles) with both calm, and jolly driving, testing bumps, g-force, etc. i didnt have a single hitch, i need to drive a bit further to be sure but it's looking on the hopeful side

hang fire on tomorrow Rhyso, i dont want to waste your time

What you need to do now is determine why the water was on top of the fuse box when you looked at it.  It will only happen again if you can't stop water dripping onto and seeping into your fuse box.

Glad things are moving in the right direction. Next port of call, check the drains are not blocked.

get rhys to run some logs on it and let him work his magic looking for things in there that we cant see. something is definately wrong mate so better to get vag-com on it and see whats up than anything going badly wrong on the car
