Replacing Clutch
« on: 15 May 2011, 23:19 »
I think the clutch might need replacing on my mk3, the pedal is stiff, bite point is fairly high and it is slipping  a bit.

its a 1992 1.4

Im pretty confident working on my own car but i know clutch's can be a pita, so how hard of a job is it and is there any special tools required?

Cheers

Not that easy to do but on the other hand if you know your way around you should be able to sort it.

Need to pick myself up a Haynes manual or somthing similar

If it doesnt require the engine to be removed or any special tools then i should be able to do it myself

You may need an odd sized spline socket to undo the bolts. Think its something like m7 11/32 spline, not all of them have it though some use normal bolts

20vt conversion, sig pic coming soon!

Cheers, are they the bolts on the clutch itself?
