power steering fluid leak
« on: 15 May 2011, 22:01 »
started the car not long ago and soon as i turned the wheel i was gettin a mad noise , turned car of and checked power steering fluid to find it empty, on further inspection with a torch it looks like its leaked bad from where it connects onto another pipe above the steering rack at the back of the engine, any1 know the percise name of this pipe? and a rough price? wont know the full damage of the pipe untill daylight when i can get it up on the ramps to have a closer luck, car was serviced 3 days ago yet they didnt pick up on this  :undecided:, any help or advice would be great.

just a quick update, took it to a garage today and turns out a seal is fooked on the steering rack, been quoted £160 for them to recon the rack and fit it back on, good price? :undecided:

picked the car up today only to be told the price had gone from £160 to £228 well you can imagine my reaction been's as they had carried out the work without informing me of the new price  , after a few nice words and threats i managed to walk out the garage with my key's and only paying £180 but have no reciept or garantee on the work and also banned from useing them for repairs again
