Shagged shock absorber
« on: 28 March 2005, 22:04 »
Fiitted new boge std shocks with eibach springs last year. Had a check on them recently and tightened the nuts a bit and managed to knacker the thread on the nut and i think the shock shaft. Am tackling it this week and planning on splitting the knackered nut off and seeing if it will be possible to sit a fat washer on to make the new nut avoid the knackered thread - think this might work? (will have a spare shocker incase).

Is there a torque setting for these nuts so i dont do it again?

These normally are a fine pitch thread so make sure you've used the correct nuts.
