Yet another gearbox question, i cant get the thing out! 16v ABF

Hi all,

im halfway through changing my 16v 02A gearbox. ive got it separated from the engine ok but it wont come down and out!

the diff part at the back keeps hitting the sub-frame. i am on my own doing it but surely it should be this difficult!

im after any tips or advice anyone can give me as ive booked a few days off work to do this and hate walking!!

Have you tried jacking the engine up a little and twisting it enough to clear the engine mount should almost fall out with right hand side of the engine up

It can be a major pain in the arse trying to get the angle right for it to drop out, try rasing the engine as suggested but it can still be very frustrating! spent the best part of a day trying to get mine out last month!

Yes..... done it! Clutch bolts 3 of em are finger tight! Dodgy!
