HELP
« on: 13 May 2011, 17:56 »
My agu 1.8gti turbo was working fine. Took the stereo out this afternoon to tidy up some wiring, refitted the stereo all good. Tonight I go to nip to the shops and the car is dead. All ignition lights up as normal. Horn wipers lights etc all work. Turn the key to start and all I get is a faint hum. Almost
as if the immobiliser is still on. Please help me I need my car for work. I have no vagcom so can't get any codes

try unplugging battery for a half hour and then try, or check the wiring behind the head unit, your clocks are part of the immo so check behind there

Update. Left the car for three hours as I had to take the kids to hockey. Came home and thought I best put the car back on the drive for the night. Got in, turned the key and it fired straight up. Now I'm really confused. Anyone got any theories

The electrics on AGU are powered by VOODOO, where as on the AUM its WITCHCRAFT....

Seriously though, if you have had the battery disconected for that length of time all of the residual charge will have left the systems...Its like a cold start for everything and resets itself...

Well, went out to the car this morning and once again it's not starting. Beginning to worry me now

FIXED IT. After stripping out the dash to check the Immobiliser wiring and getting nowhere I decided to check else where. Turns out the starter motor solenoid wire had snapped and was intermittently touching. Soldered it back together but want to know if the is a part number for a new one. Cheers people
