Lo i have just recently bought a tidy mk2 8v black golf off a bloke who is a vw mechanic. He said that about 6 months ago he replaced the engine with a new recon with a bout 77 on the clock, but i have been told by mates that its smokin a fair bit when im drivin especially when i put my foot down
(although i can't see any from the rear view mirror). The car seems fine mechanically and runs well but the smokes a bit worrying. People say it could be the head or piston rings
but its showing no symptoms of them. Theres no loss of oil and there aint any comin outta the exhaust any ideas
Im taking it up my m8's garage to check emmisions and do a compression check but i have also been told that gti's tend to smoke after a while cheers for n e help Ad
