leaky sunroof
« on: 28 March 2005, 00:07 »
HELP AGAIN!

as the subject says I have now got a leaking sunroof just before i start ripping the whole lot out anything common for this type of problem, eg seal or blocked drain hose. It leaks at the rear edge just above drivers seat.

Thought dubs were less troublesome, still great fun tho

cheers

Sounds like you sunroof seal has gone.

Open the sunroof. unscrew all the screws you can see. remove the sunroof reflector and the guides.

now close the sunroof half way. Dont tear the interior pannel!. The pannel comes out but pulling on the front edges of it. 'Ya get me'

anyway now you hold the pannel in place and wind the sunroof open fully and this should leave you with the pannel. Now slide the pannel up and out.

Should be more clear on how to take the sunroof off after that. ive never done it myself

hope that helps

Try winding it back and running some water into the drain holes? and poking some thin cable down them if it doesn't drain straight away.

Sometimes just moving the sunroof and applying a small smear of Vaseline around the seal will help if it's a small leak.
I keep a tub next to my bed for such occasions :embarassed:
