My local motror factors had 2 seperate air filters on show for my 2.0 8v golf 2000, the first one was too wide and dint fit, the second one looked fine, but when i changed it earlier, it was about 3mm deeper and 1mm longer, and also had a great big fluffy fur stuff running the length of the filter, was quite hard to get it in the airbox, so hope im not depriving the engine of air. Was not a genuine vw part, was from motor factors called ''unipart'' in Swansea.
ANyone else changed their filters and found something similar.
Filter was £6 i think, VW have one for £14.
