Pretty sure i've seen them mounted in the CD player slot before in a mk3, can't remember if it worked very well or not though

I pondered on attempting to fit a set of these last year whilst rooting around at my local breakers, unfortunately That idea got ditched after discovering a US spec cupholder center console on fleabay instead.

What are those / where they from? Are they mk3 specific drink holders or modified from another vehicle? Infact are they the internals from a mk4 dash unit?
