Rust on base of doors

Hi ALL. My 1989 16v golf is suffering from rust at the bottoms of the two doors. the rest is mint just dont understand why.

I want to sort it but on a budget, any quick fixes know would really be appreciated....

whilst im here my drivers seat has siezed too it will not fold forward at all........why i ask u?.......

Should i keep my beast totally original with small bumpers or do i change to big bumpers cant decide......

In my opinion would be to get the doors done profesionally at a bodyshop depending on how bad/ good they are this shouldnt be a difficult job. The cheapest isn't often the best and same goes for paying top whack this can be a let down.

I would keep the car origional as so many are modded now a days its impossible to find a standard one..

Your seat cable has prob gone meaning it wont release the catch...

i would find out how bad the rust is, remove the door cards and look in the bottom of the doors, if its rusted thru then depending how competent you are you might be able to do it yourself if not then body shop. if its just surface rust sand/grind it back to bare metal then paint it with a rust treatment then paint back over the top with your colour and lacquer. as its bottom of the doors you dont need to worry so much about flatting it off etc. although it depends on whereabouts on the bottom of the doors

I had that annoying rust on the bottom of my drivers door. I ended up swapping them for later style ones in the end
