Heating the plastic - surely if the sun causes the plastic to go grey, then a heat gun is gona do the same?

Thats exactly what I was thinking, I think its more the ultra violet in the suns rays that makes the plastics fade rather than the heat.

so do you rekon once u have got the plastic back to black, applying sun tan lotion to it would prevent it going grey again?

what do u rekon a water proof based factor 50 or similar?, maybe even a oil based 1 so u get a nice shine!
