It's only a Golf. Tell them to get stuffed and go buy something else.
Only when loads of people do this will the price of VWs come down - that's my logic anyway!!!!
But you can pay more for a top of the range Astra TDI than a golf. So the price is not that high.
You wouldn't pay anywhere near retail price for a Vauxhall though Geoff, the £££s would come rolling off the asking price once you started playing hard ball with the GM dealers.
VW dealers will just wave you a fond farewell these days rather than knock a few grand off. Can't blame them if they know they can sell more than they make, just so long as they accept that when times are a little harder for them the shoe will be on the other foot.
