Looking for advice for a noob

Hi all, just looking for sum advice for my golf gti 1.8 t , I'm getting a slight grinding noise when I accelerate full lock right only at really slow speed , Iv ad the wheel off and it looks there a split in my cv boot as thers grease n oil every wer , I think the whole is small , could this noise be linked , any help would be great , cheers guys !!

CV joint or the drop link making contact with the driveshaft when on full lock which is quite common if its lowered.  There will me tell tale marks on the driveshaft if this is the case.

Eitherway you need to replace the CV boot at least.

Its usually the opposite side to the direction you are turning with CV joints. But change the boot as said already and then see, but I'd guess its something else.

Cheers guys , thanks for the response , Iv ad another look and on the drivers side drive shaft ther Is signs of rubbing so I'm assuming it's this lol , will raising the car as it's lowered stop this ? Iv got another issue aswell now , wen I cold start the car I can hear like a rattle or knocking , sounds like exhaust but not sure , it's always had but it I'm sick tht noise now lol , I'm thinking of gettin rid tbh , is the gt tdi worth a shout , any of u ad 1 ??

Before you faff about raising the height just pop the drop link off and see if it makes a difference.  If it is the drop link either put with it (I do as it only seems to be a bother when I park on my drive) or raise the car so it doesn't rub or fit adjustable drop links.
