Oh yeah it's SORN, read that but forgot about it. How much is the 16v for tax?

You're looking at over £200 for the year, I think it's something like £210 for 12 months.

£215 or £118.25 for 6mths  :nerd:

May be worth restoring simply because of rarity.

Also...

Yes, no worries.

Hmmmm, no tax, 191k and rust... Three weapons in my haggling arsenal or just steer clear?

The autotrader ad shows the extent of one bit of rust:

I would steer clear myself, that front wing needs replacing also if it has started to rust on the sills then your looking at lots of work to sort or keep on top of.

If I waited a while to find a better 16v example (non anni most likely) how difficult is it to swap the black dials for the white ones? BBS alloys and golf ball gear knob I imagine wouldn't be much problem once I'd found them on ebay

Problem solved then! I'd actually like to have a little project car for myself anyway - not that I'd be out in the garage for hours, six weekends on the trot, to change the gear knob

My mate suggested I get an 8v and swap in a 16v head! Pah! not ruddy likely!!!

I would just buy a much better standard 16v for the money.

Should be easy to find a lower miles / less rust car.
