The GTI has breathed a bit of new life into me anyway. Although I'm only 38 so not quite ready for the knackers yard just yet.
I love the car and can see myself owning a few more different Mk Golfs in the furture.
Who knows the GTI maybe the secret to eternal youth....... and if not just make the most of it until one of these suddenly feels like a bloody good idea

Interlagos wheels or black Monza Shadows would be perfect for that pram!

The idea for this thread has been shamelessly lifted from the US forum. Should inject a bit of fun and help promote bonding or bondage, which ever takes your fancy.

I'll start:
I am seasoned citizen, being 63 years young. The Manual GTI keeps me young, excited and enables me to use all my limbs. I also have a Mercedes C Class 350 CDI Sport 7 speed Auto which I don't give a toss about.

The love affair with the GTI keeps getting stronger on a daily basis and I am getting a bit concerned with this amorous relationship as is the rest of my family. Tough titties to one and all, I say. I'm up in cloud nine.  :smug:

I wonder if UK responses will be as eloquent and fun as those from the USA.

Great to see other folks as old as me [64] being nutty about their cars.  After owning a 2.0 TDI, we recently bought a carbon grey GTD DSG.  I've just sold my 270 kw Holden ute because it was such a boofhead and was no quicker than the GTD anyway. Have fun while we can I say. When the side of my boot touces the road while riding the bike I do slow up a bit though!  Oldies rock!

I've had comments from 10 to 70 year olds.

From "cool car" and  "that's a GTI!!" to  "nice looking motor car, is it as good as they say?"

True. :smug:

It's late and I've just got home. Doing what might you enquire? Well, taking Wolfgang for a very fast and long blast along some very empty roads. I love that car. I went at some very naughty speeds and got away with it. Very reminiscent of times when, as a schoolboy, I indulged in some very risky performances right under the noses of my Jesuit Priest teachers! Felt so good.
Goodnight.
