R-Tech stag 1 map + MBC?
« on: 01 May 2011, 18:25 »
I have an AGU and I know unlike its later friend the AUM it cannot have the boost cut so easily due to the n249 and throttle. But I was wondering has anyone ever used a MBC with a K03 and a stage 1 remap from r-tech. If so whats a safe point in boost to put it up too, I just want a few more gains and would like to know a safe point for the turbo and how much more I can squeeze.

I understand the lifespan will be reduced but I got a spare turbo in the shed so its not a major worry for me.

Hello,

The R-Tech spec1 will go in to limp mode fuel and timing if it exceeds x amount of air flow from a over boost map left in the mapping so its safe with the oem cat.  In stage 2 we max this map out to give a bigger deviation threshold.    Plus this ecu is narrow band so its hard to get the fuel correct.

Thanks Nick.

What is the limit that it will consider as overboost and will the map cope correctly with fuel demands?

I also contacted you a while back saying I was not happy with are service on mine and a friends visit as no inspection was carried out nor any scanning. Which the reply was "we work on these all the time, we'd notice a fault straight away...". I have now just fitted a FMIC and srarted having a boosting issue, I know what a boost leak feels like and when a pipe pops off. I did all the piping, beading et. myself but this was a different problem. Upon further investigation I took the DV out as that seemed to be what it was to find no spring.

I have now gone out of my way to get a replacenent spring. But I am not pleased to say the least especially after the excuse I got last time followed by finding this out which I can understand is a simple mistake, but it does not make me feel any better from my experiences with your company.

I don't mind giving you a call if thats the form off contact you wish to maintain about this issue.
