Do all gt 170 diesels have dpf?
« on: 30 April 2011, 16:27 »
Hi,

As the thread title really, looking at one of these but don't really want the one with dpf. Its an early one 06 registered. Anyone know how to tell without crawling underneath it?

Cheers

All the 170's have DPF, there is a lot in the way of sorting it out, there is a few tuning companies who will take the dpf off and remap the car to achieve an healthy dose of power and better running without the silly dpf regeneration...

PD is a better engine IMHO - more low down grunt - but due to way fuel is pressurised cannot meet the new EEV regs
as the fuel pressure varies with revs.

I had an octavia VrS PD - nice car but thirsty - The DPF was just a pain.

Buy a 140 and map it if you must!
