Hi, new to the forum
« on: 30 April 2011, 15:12 »
Hi, just joined because I'm hoping to get a Mk3 soon. I'm on the S2forum too with the same name as I used to have an Audi S2 coupe - what happened to it is another story....

Given up on getting another S2 for a while until I have the money for it

Right now I have a gutless little polo FSI - very nice and very well equipped but thats just it, it's 'nice'. And going from 220bhp and 228lb/ft to 86bhp and 94lb/ft id definitely the wrong direction! If anyone on here knows someone after that sort of car (steer clear of the word gutless though!) the ad is on pistonheads http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2732265.htm

So right now I'm trying to get some cash for the polo to help out when I come to getting a flat in July and am after a Mk3 GTI with some of what's left over - the car is by far the most valuable thing I own so I will hopefully be left with more than I need for securing a flat and why not spend some of it on a faster car?

Welcome!

So err...

What did happen to the S2?

You don't really have to tell.

Do the numbers after your name have any meaning?

Its my DOB - I'm not good at coming up with names so this one will do on Forums

As for my S2's fate..... I was driving home from work on Saddleworth moor - not my usual route home but it was June, it had no air con & it had black leather interior and I was stuck in a 3 mile jam to come off the m62... So coming round a blind-ish corner a sheep appeared on the road and my instinct was to get out its way. As I was doing 50-65 mph already, yanking the steering wheel hard to the right wasn't the best idea... and I got into a tank slapper. Couldn't control it and couldn't move my hands across the wheel fast enough (and didn't have enough driving talent) and so it started to slide off the road with the fence looming..... all the time i was thinking please don't hit the fence please don't hit the fence please don't hit the fence

But what I didn't know was that there was a trench about three feet in from the side of the road. It dug in. It flipped over. It landed on it's roof. I crawled out of the open driver's side window

Oh and it happened 1 month and 1 day after I bought it

But on the bright side if it decided to slide off to the right instead off the left I would have dropped about 20 feet onto a steep hill that I could have slid down... at the end of which there was another sheer drop

The fact that I survived with no injuries helped me get over it and move on really quick. I just thought experiences like this builds character I guess

Plus I have a cool car crash story to tell people

One of my mates asked about the sheep. Not "are you ok Jack?" No she wanted to know if the sheep was alright

I love your attitude about the whole thing, most people would be a trembling wreck after that kind of accident, kudos to you buddy.

Now, as per the other thread that we have spoken in.."Feck off".

Well I was a trembling wreck for a short while but when you're out in the middle of nowhere waiting for the police to arrive, you have the gentle hum of the engine and gearbox still spinning, it didn't take long for me to realise how lucky an escape it was!

Now I'm fecking off to a scrap dealer to find a Lancia
