Two weeks for a new bootlid? Thats rediculous!

It's not just the bootlid, there's two dents on the roof that you can't see on the picture plus you have to take into account the bank holidays.

The only thing ridiculous is the final price(£2560)!!

Bodyshops have become so expensive. They give one price for the Insurance Company and a cheaper price if you pay yourself. Part of the course. Quite shocking.

BTW: Are you going to sell the Monza Shadows?

Not sure yet, I going try and get them replaced under warranty first when I book it in for it's first service (starting to corrode around the centre caps)

That's shocking. My car was BW8/9. I had it delivered on 23rd March 2010. Mine are fine so far.

Seems there might be a challenger for number 1 wheel whore? :smug:

These wheel whores go around and around in ever decreasing circles trying desperately to better the look of the 18" Monza Shadows and they fail miserably and beautifully. The Shadows are the best looking wheels by far. Nothing comes or will ever come close to their mind blowing looks as is evidence from the constant admiration they get. Rightly so.  :smug: :smug: :smug:

PS: I don't care about the weight of the wheel, only its look.

The VWR alloys are like a one night stand that everyone wants rid of the next day but the diamond cut monzas are the ones you really love as they blind everyone in your local town in a summers day! Shame they weren't bigger!  size matters and we know it! :smug:

Snoops: If VW replace them under warranty, they'll keep the old wheels for checking by their technical bods. They did this with my rear bumper. I think most manufacturers operate in this way.

Snoops wants the replacements Asker, not the faulty ones.
The only reason I never bought a set of Shadows was the fact from previous mk5 experience I knew there would be issues with them. And as my car originally came with poverty spec 17s VW wouldn't honour the warranty if I tried to claim for substandard finished Monza Shadows at a later date once my second hand purchased wheels went the way they all do.
I'm sure what Geoff wants to do is get hold of a brand new 'second hand' set and treat them with all manner of potions he has to prevent them from going all milky in future. Then he can put his powder coated 17s back on in winter when it gets really grim oop North.

Edit: Looks like Geoff replied himself whilst I was typing!

To be honest the car only comes out at weekends and the wheels are always cleaned with bilberry wheel cleaner diluted 1:10 and then protected with a coat of RIMWAX so can't understand why they have corroded so quickly.
