No Snoopy, I never looked at your link sorry. Just presumed (wrongly) it was the one I downloaded previously from the my-gti site last year. I never realised this one was just literally out.

But yes the previous firmware upgrade slowed my ipod down to a crawl. To a state it is so frustrating to use. You press the scroll bar to go down the list and it seems to go down one entry at a time very slowly so if you have thousands of songs its a nightmare.
It was absolutely fine before the upgrade. Just as zippy as the ipod itself.

I'll download the firmware you posted and try it out as I have nothing to lose. I'm working this afternoon so will report back later.

Steven.

I done the update and the test folder of music I have made up with all the tracks just being 15 seconds long, played without any stuttering     Skipped through a good few tracks and there was a very slight hesitation when the tracks changed. An awful lot better than before.  However I then couldn't get out my test folder no matter what I did. I had to unplug the ipod and plug it back in and I could then get out the test folder.

I'll try it out over the next few days and see what I think.

I have just updated to the 0150 firmware and its solved the it can't remember which song/folder I was listening too for the 2.5" 500Gb Western Digital drive I use.  It used to always go back to the start once the ignition key was removed and its now solved. Woooo Hoooo.

Just updated mine. I'll try it more over the next few days but looks like it remembers last song played on my flash drives also

What age are your cars as there has been a software update. Which can be downloaded from http://www.my-gti.com/category/reference/firmware-updates

Cheers Snoopy. This seems to have stopped the stuttering with my iPod / RCD510 combo.

Update works with one of my memory sticks, but the other is the same as before, reverting to the first song in the first album.

Maybe the update sorts some problems.
It does not sort the hesitation/stutter/pause at the start of tracks.
