Antiroll Bars

I was just wondering if the anitroll bars on a VR6 are stiffer than those on a 16V? if so would they fit straight onto a 16V? and does any1 know how much new ones would be?

I don't think there is a lot of difference, if any, correct me if i'm wrong!!! If you got the cash then go and get an Eibach anti-roll bar.

if i had the money i would get eibach ones but i dont, thats why i am thinking about the VR6 ones as they would be much cheaper!

Surely the VR6 antiroll bars will be stiffer than 16V ones as a VR6 is heavier than a 16V because of the engine weight?

Up to 1995 the anti-roll bar is the same on 16v and vr6. 1996 onwards i'm not sure as more than one listed and engine code AAA and ABF not listed on the parts. Hope that helps a bit

Well my car is a 95' so it will probably have the earlier bar as on the VR6. I still rekon the bar on a VR6 must be stiffer though, especially the front one because of the extra weight!, the rear is probably the same as on mine cos there is no increase at the rear.
if i went to a main dealer would they know?

The bar is the same!!! the ETKA disk i got is the same as the dealer has got     The difference with the vr6 will be dampers and springs. I would do that first

This ETKA disk you have? is this the program they have at the main dealers which list every component for your car including diagrams, part number etc? if so how did u get that? and can u do me a copy?

Yep thats the one, it is a slightly older one i got, but has all the right part numbers. You can get them off Ebay. Worth having as you can look up the part no. then ring the dealer to get a price without all the messing around.
