Starter Machine kit.. (attn:waxamomo!)

Just been looking into buying a simple kit to get me started with machine polishing and found this on eBay:

Usually, these kind of deals are too good to be true.. So I thought I'd put it to you guys. What do you think of this kit?

If I set myself a limit of say, £150.. could I buy a DA/Rotary with backplate/s, pads and some polish? I would only intend to use it now and then, so nothing serious.

If your new to machine polishing I'd recommend a da tatters than rotary  :smiley:

Have a look on Waxamomos website. There is a link on the detailing section but I cant be arsed to post it! Pretty sure I've seen a few kits on there for under or around 150 notes. He is pretty good as well and will advise as to what is best for you car ie; age, colour, compounds to go for etc.... Hope this helps. :smiley:

Thanks for the info! I like the sound of the DAS-6 and the price is good :)

Which of the three kits should I go for? Apart from different names, I don't really know the difference in the compounds, etc. and with the Waxmomo kits, is that enough pads, etc. for me?


I would mainly be using it on older golfs, mk2s/mk3s. My car at the moment is a Maritime Blue mk3 so that would be getting the treatment first!

Hopefully Chris sees this and can offer some advice :)

You do need a rotary and DA buffer but i'd start with a DA (dual action) if you are a beginner.
Rotary can leave marks/ burn the paint. DA will remove rotary marks/swirls and is much safer.

I use the DAS 6 Pro with Menzerna polishes. Very good kit if you only want to machine buff / remove swirl marks.
My rotary only gets used on deep scratches and oxidised paint.

Once you start buffing you will then start looking into glaze's and waxes and turn into a detailing geek

Haha! I used to be a massive detailing geek a couple of years ago when I had my show-worthy white mk2.. But now that I drive a crappy mk3 tdi i'm not as bothered! I do want to get back into it though :)


Hmmm.. It looks like the CleanYourCar kits are much better value than the Waxamomo ones.. I wonder if Waxamomo are willing to match/beat their offer..  :wink: :smug:

Hey guy's, sorry I haven't been on the forum for a good couple of weeks, a lot of work is getting done behind the scenes at Waxamomo and I have been up the wall.

With regards to my polishing kits, they are completely out of date, there are a few reasons for this. The main one being that I am completely out of stock of Dual Action polishers and it seems all the manufacturers are too (Dodo Juice, Kestrel/Deltalyo, Meguiar's)

There is a new Meguiar's G220 due out soon and I will be setting up some new kits with this included. I have been working on prices for kits with the Dodo Juice Buff Daddy but it is pointless advertising them yet as I and Dodo have no stock.

I do have all the dual action polishers on back order with all the manufacturers and as soon as they are available they will be sent out to me.

The only machine polishers I have in stock at the moment is the Dodo Juice Spin Doctor.
