I have driven a Golf R with one of their maps on and it was very OEM in the how it delivered the power, so a bit more like APR than Revo if I was to compare it with anything else.

Thanx for that Steve,
they did say today that it wasn't as aggressive as Revo,
Said it was A lot smoother, prob like the Apr I had on the mk5, which I was impressed with

Awesome couldn't get through the Revo coding to remove it? when I asked them to put the Apr map on the mk6 when I was having probs with the stage 1

Decisions decisions

What are these problems people are having with Revo's please?

Doc,
Not so much a problem, just very aggressive power delivery ie when trying to set off from a standing start, on mine with stage 2 cannot use any more than half throttle until you get up to say 4k in the rev range then you can floor it, then into 2nd ease off and same again, this is also the same in 3rd,
Dont get me wrong i have got use to it now and is a very quick car, but my mk5 was stage 2 Apr and just as quick but that could be floored from a standing start with not to many issues.

The issues i had early on with Revo where with the early stage 1(hesitation/flat spots) a few others on here also had this,
While i was waiting for Revo to bring an update out (which was months) i took it to Awesome for my Milltek etc to be fitted and asked them to remove the Revo and put the Apr map on, so after filter n zorst fitted off it went across the workshop to sort the map out, (by this time it was getting late into the afternoon)
Set the car up on the machine for downloads etc, but couldnt access the ecu some sort of password or coding stopping them  a few phonecalls to the states Apr tech guys and still no joy, by this time it was time for Awesome to shut up shop for the day (great bunch of guys) They said to me take it back to where i got it done and get them to remove it, then bring it back and then they could do it,
So off i went home with sound of the Millers  the following day i went to the revo dealer and asked them to remove the map ?
He rang Revo and told them the issues and they said that they have now got a stage 2 ready which will sort out the flat spots etc, but not released it to the public yet, so for £50 i got them to put it on and see if it sorted the flat spot problem out ? and what a difference, been on for about 6 months now, no issues just very  aggresive, hence why i am thinking of changing it to the o.c.t  :undecided:

Got booked in for the anti lift kit, lower engine mount and Mr Ps Coilovers to fit next week (see if that sorts out the grip issues/and wheelhop) if not o.c.t or Apr it is then,

So will have to see what next week brings

Cool and thank you for the insite.

I'm sure REVO could smooth out your problems if you talk to them, seems mad to have to pay again?

here in the Netherlands my VW dealer suggested O.CT when I specced my Gti back in Sept09.  I had never heard of them and was very dubious, but today, 50k km later, the Golf continues to be a complete blast and SO fast.  Combined with the DSG box, it has superb torque in 3rd and 4th and I have never been disappointed.  Driven like a Touring car, it uses 10l/100km (approx 29mpg) and is 100% civilised.  I also have a 993 Turbo S but to be honest the Golf feels just as fast and I love it...!
