ok, despite my 2 depressing posts in the mk4 section about how broke my car is, i thought id cheer myself up with the thought of a bit of tuning when the car is fixed

currently, with a good service and remap, im looking at a 7bhp gain to 132, but its been brought to my attention as the title says, cams, is it possible to uprate them? if so, to what? and what sort of gains could i be looking at and what would i need to do?

Cams will gain very little tbh.

pitty, id like to squeeze to 140 if possible without needing to go turbo route, wouldnt mind a supercharger though

You would be better to fit a turbo lump for the 150bhp, could work out easier and cheaper than getting yours to 140.

as much as the sound of a dump valve would be cool, and id have better chance of keeping up with all my mates who have turbos, im allowed to do so much to the family car, but if i do an engine swap... i might as well move my sleeping bag in as the car is where i will be sleeping, lol, the other half wont have any of it, shes already seen the problems ive had with the engine conversion on my other car

Sell it and buy a turbo then
