ok, this is the main ign live feed for the coil, if this is really dropping to 9v then that would explain everything!  for a test, run a fused feed from the battery direct to the spare spade on the coil, on the side where all the other black wires are. take it for a few runs, if problem gone then i would replace the ignition switch.

you'll need to disconnect this wire from the battery before the car will turn off ;)

If the ignition switch is the problem would that explain why my starter fails sometimes and just clicks ?

Gave it to a guy i know it was fueling it burnt the tips off the iridium plugs he took them out and the bores were full of fuel, now he cant get it started he said it could be the ecu but ive got a spare one

If it has blown the ecu check all the earths before fitting another one.

I changed the ecu from one i got at a scrappy it ran great the suddenly came back but i didnt check any earths before fitting.
 
I know some one with another mk2 im going to try my origional ecu in his and see if he gets my problem.

All sorted!! Replaced the fusebox coz the wires in back were a mess and he thinks its what blew the new ecu i got. I tried my mates ecu in it and the injectors are working properly just need to find an ecu now.
