Hi everyone just a quick question theres a golf for sale with mot but it says that the gear linkage has gone but they will supply a kit to fix it is this a big job or a easy fix cheers for any help

Its a couple of hours (if that) of relatively easy work, you will need to get the front of the car up in the air, at some point, so a jack and axle stands are required... use the search function, this subject has been covered many times.

Thanks mate so do you think it would be worth getting if this is all thats up with it. can it still be driven i mean if i bought it would i be able to drive it home or would it have to be trailered

Its an easy job, therefore I would get the seller to get it fixed, before you buy, this way, you can check that the GB is sound and reliable, and he's not bluffing saying it only needs the kit, when the GB itself is scrap...
