Hm, I had to check my car on this; converted to UK value I have paid something like £56.000 for a 2011 model Golf GTI
You are all so lucky!!
I'd say you were the lucky one being able to afford £56k for a shopping car:smiley:
That reminds me of VWKev. Where is he?
Sold the GTI and bought a Hyundai maybe

He has moved house, does not have a good internet connection (p-l-e-a-s-e) and is busy shopping or as Steve30 would say, dogging.

A bit OT.
Was going to drive the Merc C Class Sport 350 CDI 7-Speed Auto for a couple of weeks. Not used to automatics so I nearly crashed it! It is bloody fast and could show up a standard GTI (like mine) but it is nowhere near as wonderful as Wolfgang/GTI. So parked it and threw the keys in the drawer and took the tube.

Feels really good to have made the right choice.  :smug:

A fully specced GTI would now cost £37,204

A fully specced Golf R with accessories would cost £42,438

The RS3 I had on order was £42,370
