I think VW are looking at this from a warranty perspective. Too many failures will cost them money and reputation. The reference to the LeMans Rocco suggests this is also about race engines to an extant and these tend to spend most of their time at WOT high in the revs. Not exactly what the average remapped MKVI owner does.

Am on REVO stage two with no problems at all! Think people worry too much. Look at the stage 3 guys running 380 bhp without any problems.

BOOOOOOOOOM!!!! :evil: :laugh:

Eventually!  :evil: :evil:

The sound of the Turbo blowing up  :laugh:

Good luck Kenny. Hope it lasts long enough to enjoy it.

Have a look through the mk4/mk5 sections.
Very few problems with decent remaps.

Unless you screw it all of the time of course, in that case you'll break any engine. And your licence.
Mk7 GTI. DBP, DCC, Winter pack. Mine since new, July 2013.
GTI no. 4. Golf no. 5.  VW no. 7.

If your having anything more than a mild map from a trusted supplier I'd advise getting it done somewhere with a dynamometer* so they can check the AFR* is as it should be  :wink:

AFR = Air to fuel ratio

DYNOMOMETER = Rolling road

My god Steve you are quite the jealous one of the MarkSixers!  :cool: 380Bhp is from the APR GT2860 RS ( i think) turbo which is more than capable of that sort of power!

I dont have 380 bhp, but if I did, it would be the APR kit. Fantastic bit of kit hence the reason of the price! Remeber its not BHP that kills engines and snaps con rods :wink:

I was at Awesome GTI when they were mapping the APR MKVI. It made 5bhp more than my old ED30 and 9lbft less torque...on the same day :wink:

And that was without the nitrous on mine. :evil:

Not a lot to tell really. I was having the neuspeed pipe out on at the time and wanted back to back dyno's of any gains. The MKVI had just been on and did 372bhp and 406lbft. Mine did 367bhp and 415lbft.

The mkVI was still having some work done to it and was waiting for an APR exhaust to arrive, so it may well have done more later :smiley:
