Trouble is mate altho HIDs, remaps etc etc, in our eyes is great, to them all they see is a mk4 golf.  sell it private best bet, looks a smart car and youd get a hell of alot more from private sale .............. and top choice on the rocco     love em!

Do it this way then,

Keep the Golf.

Bosh £3.5k payment/deposit for the Rocoo on a credit card, they're always offering 6-9month interest free if you balance transfer.  Stick the rest on a loan, that gets you the Rocco.  Not having a car to p/x may give you a better hand to play with for some cash back or a better deal from the stealers.

That gives you 6-9 months breathing space to sell the Golf, which shouldn't be a problem, the sale price from that pays off the credit card.  It's not a lack of cash problem but more of a cash flow problem.

The monthly payment difference from not having a £20k loan but a £16.5k loan you can put to one side and help pay off the card bill later down the line, if you get your preferred sale price for the Golf then you got a little chunk of cash spare to go on holiday.

It's not from a vw dealer but it already has a lot of extras, that may be a plan about using a credit card for the deposit i owe bugger all on the 2 cards i have.

Hmmm i think i will have to sit down tonight and go over the figures.. problem is holiday is already booked we are off to Thailand for a month at Xmas so hence why i am not jumping in for the car now as i was planning on waiting till we got back..but i have fallen in love with this car !

What reg Rocco's you looking at??  The later 140's come with the DPF pipe AFAIK so remapping them gets a little more complicated  :undecided:

Even on the 170's very few remapping companies offer a complete solution to the ballache that is the DPF

You might find it a bit of a shock coming down from 190ish to the 170 although I've found that you can use the power more of the time simply because the chassis doesn't try and throw you off the road!  So in actual fact the Audi is just as quick across country as the Golf was

Would like a little more poke though  :lipsrsealed:

I'm not 100% sure on the 140's - certainly pre-2008 they were DPF free.  All 170's were fitted with DPF's.  Mine's an 08 car with a DPF

Interesting as VWR only quote 195bhp......

http://www.volkswagenracing.co.uk/Scirocco%20Pages/Scirocco%20PowerUpgrades.html

That does include a full exhaust system mind so it could easily see over 200bhp  :undecided:

Lol    £1500 includes the exhaust and some kind of warranty cover

Still fricking pricey mind!  Plus I'd want reassurances that with a just a remap alone you won't encounter any DPF issues
