When to glaze?

Polish, then what?
Glaze or sealant?
Common sense tells me, glaze then seal.
Then wax over.

Thats what i do mate, seems to give good results,
Wash.
Clay.
Wash.
Dry.
Polish.
Glaze.
Seal.
Wax.

But only do all that once every 3 months ish, usually just a wash and wax top up, or Red mist if i can't be @rsed as it's all by hand!

paint cleanser
polish
glaze x2  leave 15 mins between coats
sealant x2 again 15 mins between layers - well i do dont know if this is the best way or me being silly
wax as many coats as you want, i normally give up after 2 coats, and just top up every wash.

then its just keeping on top of it really

a day or two, depends of if i want to work hard

not tried it on the passat probably 2-3 days being a slacker.

cheap shampoo - simoniz currently
cg's bugwash or whatever the orange one is called in a squirty bottle
valetpro clay with citrus bling diluted
megs deep crystal stage 1 paint cleaner
megs deep crystal stage 2 polish/ poorboys pro polish 2 - prefer the megs tbh
pb's black hole - might try white diamond as the passat is lighter than my indigo blue golf
wet mirror finish glaze - will be replace with js109 eventually
natty blue paste wax
windowlene on the windows or citrus bling diluted
cg's or pb's trim restorer for trim, tyres and dash

You don't need to rinse the car before using a prewash/SF. I'd only do it if the car was heavily soiled.

You also don't need to dry the car before claying - it's only going to get wet anyway. Also, if you use something like Bilt Hamber clay, you can use water as lubrication.

Might be worth washing the car or in some way ensuring all of the polish residue comes off. Doesn't apply if it's more of a filler than a polish.

Depending on the sealant, I'd leave a lot longer. I found FK1000P did much better if you waited at least 48 hours before applying a second layer. Ditto with wax - you need to give it a chance to fully cure otherwise you get gassing.

When I did my winter protection, it was two layers of sealant and two layers of wax applied over four weeks. Car wasn't used much then, so it wasn't dirty between washes either.
